Dr. Oobot the subsonic scientist makes lots of noises, often times collaborating with other members of the strange and venerable glitch mob. Generally Ooah aka the Mob Boss brews audio concoctions consisting of banging drum beats that range anywhere from eighty-five to one hundred and ten beats per minute, squishy gut-wrenching bass frequencies, harmonic poly-rhythmic melodies and bloopy bleepy clicks and clacks. Some might know this artist for his turntablism, others for his highly energetic and consistently danceable hybrid dj/live laptop sets.

Santa Ana, California based dj – beatmaker Chris Alfaro aka Free The Robots has shared stages with avant garde acts such as The Gaslamp Killer, Boom-Bip, and Thavius Beck, among others, Alfaro’s work forges it’s own identity distinct from the conventionsal sounds of Boom-Clap, Glitch Hop or any other instrumental Hip-hop. Leaning heavily on gritty broken drum-beats, funky Psyche organ loops, weird vocal bits and dusted Jazz vibes as it does the music on his self-titled EP might elicit comparisons to likes of Dj Shadow and RJD2 event though its not.
